Our mission is based on the advancement of knowledge and excellence in research and teaching. We focus on innovation, telehealth and virtual patient care, including the use of
telehealth within our CIUSSS and the development of our
Care everywhere initiative, which emphasizes the delivery of the right care at the right time in whichever location is most appropriate, safest and most convenient for the recipients of health care and social services. This initiative brings together 4 innovation projects, including the Command Center, Virtual Care, the Connected Health Record and OROT,
our own center for innovation in connected health.
Bringing together a wide variety of healthcare institutions, our
CIUSSS covers a large territory on the Island of Montreal. It serves a diverse and multicultural community of some 345,000 people. Our CIUSSS is comprised of the
Jewish General Hospital, one of the best hospitals in the world and in the greater Montreal area, as well as being one of McGill University's flagship teaching hospitals. Our CIUSSS also includes three specialized hospitals, five CLSCs, two rehabilitation centers, seven residential and long-term care centers and day centers as well as several affiliated research centers.
Treatment and care are provided by over 11,000 staff members. They are at the heart of the network and play a key role in implementing the care pathways offered to users of our facilities. Over the years, our CIUSSS has distinguished itself and received several honorable mentions around the world for the quality of its care and research.
